HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung has directed local authorities and contractors to accelerate construction and ensure that five expressways connecting Ha Tinh and Quang Tri provinces will be completed by June 30.

During a working session on March 10 in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Ha Tinh provinces, Dung reviewed progress and addressed challenges in five key expressway projects: Bai Vot-Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi-Vung Ang, Vung Ang-Bung, Bung-Van Ninh, and Van Ninh-Cam Lo, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

He urged the Ministry of Construction, project owners, and relevant agencies to resolve remaining obstacles swiftly. While construction should be largely completed by April 30, the final deadline has been set for June 30 this year.

These five projects, totaling 259.2 kilometers in length, are being developed under the Ministry of Construction’s authority, with its project management boards overseeing implementation. The combined investment amounts to VND49.2 trillion.

Now, the Bai Vot-Ham Nghi expressway is 73.52% complete, while the Ham Nghi-Vung Ang section is 82.8% done. The Vung Ang-Bung and Bung-Van Ninh expressways stand at 85.2% and 77.77% completion, respectively.

The Van Ninh-Cam Lo expressway is also being fast-tracked, with the main route expected to be finished by June 30. However, the overall project remains about 15.39% behind the adjusted timeline, with completion scheduled as per contractual commitments.
