HCMC – The HCMC Department of Industry and Trade and the Saigon Times Group co-organized the third HCMC Brand Award ceremony yesterday, January 6, to honor 45 businesses in the city for their efforts and success in brand building.
The 45 winners are leading and prestigious enterprises in their respective industries in the city, consolidating their positions in the local market amid many challenges over global economic uncertainties, soaring inflation, Covid-19, geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions.
The winners were selected based on their transparency and legal compliance, efficiency in brand building, corporate social responsibility, human resource policy, research and development, innovation, creativity, the reputation and popularity of their brands, the quality and safety of products, and sustainable development.
“Riding on the success of the two previous editions, the 2022 HCMC Brand Award attracted the participation of many enterprises in various fields. This year, as many as 61 firms met the requirements to participate in the award,” said Tran Minh Hung, editor-in-chief of the Saigon Times Group and head of the panel of judges.
Speaking at the ceremony, HCMC Chairman Phan Van Mai said that the city honored 45 companies in HCMC that have achieved effective and stable business operations and made significant contributions to the city’s socio-economic development. These firms now employ over 36,000 workers and have annual revenue of a combined VND333 trillion.
Among these winners, 25 already won the HCMC Brand Award in either 2020 or 2021.
“This award reflects their non-stop efforts in maintaining and promoting their brands despite difficulties, especially when the city was hit hard by the Covid pandemic,” said Mai.
The city leader expected these 25 leading brands and the 20 new winners to continue thriving, reach out to the global market and represent the core values of the award – prestige, quality and impressiveness.
“The presence of new winners and the continued participation of previous winners showed the prestige of the HCMC Brand Award, which is considered motivation and inspiration for firms to strive to improve their products and services and elevate their brands,” said Hung.
Persistent in brand-building journey
At the event, the leader of the municipal government also called on enterprises to join hands with the city to complete three main duties: enhancing their business operations, developing the business community and embracing the city’s sustainable growth.
Firms should proactively sound out investment and cooperation opportunities and focus on green and circular economic development, moving toward building a solid business strategy and joining global supply chains.
According to HCMC Chairman Mai, building brands is a key duty of both enterprises and the city. The city commits to improving administrative reform and public service quality, enhancing the investment environment and helping firms promote their sustainable brand values.
The city will create more favorable conditions for breakthroughs in 2023.
Mai also said that the city would build a center for HCMC brand product exhibitions to popularize the city’s brands among foreign investors.
A seminar titled “Building long-lasting brands” was co-held by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and the University of Economics HCMC – International School of Business on the same day within the framework of the ceremony to provide all the latest trends, methods, tools and strategies to build brands.
