Four ministers appointed following Government restructuring

HCMC – The National Assembly approved the appointments of four ministers for newly formed ministries yesterday afternoon, February 18, as part of the Government’s restructuring for the 2021-2026 term.

Tran Hong Minh was appointed as Minister of Construction, while Nguyen Manh Hung was named Minister of Science and Technology.

Do Duc Duy was selected as Minister of Agriculture and Environment, and Dao Ngoc Dung was appointed Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Tran Hong Minh was born in 1967 in An My Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Previously, he served as Minister of Transport. As part of the Government’s restructuring and streamlining efforts, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Construction were merged to form the Ministry of Construction.

Nguyen Manh Hung, born in 1962 in Bac Ninh, holds a Master’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a background in Wireless Telecommunications Engineering.

He has served as a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee. Before his appointment as Minister of Science and Technology, he was the Minister of Information and Communications.

Do Duc Duy was born in 1970 in Thai Binh Province. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was merged with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to establish the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Dao Ngoc Dung, born in 1962 in Ha Nam Province, holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Law. He has been a member of the Party Central Committee for four terms (10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th) and a deputy of the National Assembly for two terms (14th and 15th).

Before his appointment as Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, he served as Minister of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs.
