HCMC – FPT has announced a strategic partnership with Landing AI, a leading U.S. computer vision platform and artificial intelligence (AI) software company, today, October 24, establishing itself as one of Landing AI’s major investors and strategic partners in the Asia Pacific region.
FPT and Landing AI plan to explore untapped market potentials through specific projects aimed at promoting the application of AI. This includes implementing computer vision solutions for automotive, manufacturing, healthcare and education.
The partnership combines Landing AI’s extensive experience in the North American market with FPT’s exntesive network in the Asia-Pacific region, leveraging their respective AI expertise to deploy end-to-end visual inspection solutions across Asia. The partnership is expected to be a significant milestone in AI cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S.
This plan builds on a prior agreement between Landing AI and FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT, in 2022.
FPT Software and Landing AI are also considering the possibility of opening an engineering center in Vietnam to develop a high-quality AI workforce and improve manpower for both companies.
Andrew Ng, founder and CEO of Landing AI, will work with FPT Education as an AI development advisor to create an AI curriculum for students from grades 1 to 12. “I am impressed by the vision and capabilities of FPT in solving complex industry challenges through technology, as well as FPT’s commitment to education,” he said.
Truong Gia Binh, FPT chairman, praised the partnership between the two companies, saying that it would usher in a new era for AI development in Vietnam and offer new opportunities for future generations to excel in high-tech fields.
FPT is one of the founding partners of the Open Source AI Alliance, led by IBM, Meta, Intel and Dell. The corporation has an AI workforce of 500 experts and offers over 20 AI-enabled products and services, serving more than 200 million monthly end-users.
FPT.AI, the company’s AI platform, was recently recognized as the Best AI Platform in 2023 by the technology markets research organization SoftwareReviews.
