FPT Retail to issue over 8.5 million shares for 2025 dividend payment

HCMC – FPT Digital Retail JSC, known as FPT Retail (HOSE: FRT), said it plans to issue over 8.5 million shares to pay a 2025 stock dividend of 5%.

Under the plan, shareholders will receive five new shares for every 100 shares held. The share issue is expected to be completed before the end of the third quarter of 2026, pending approval from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

With more than 170 million shares currently outstanding, FPT Retail is estimated to issue more than 8.5 million more shares in the upcoming dividend distribution.

Regarding business performance, FPT Retail posted total revenue of VND15.117 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, up 30% year-on-year and achieving 25% of its full-year target. Its pre-tax profit reached VND472 billion, up 73% and fulfilling 30% of the company’s 2026 annual plan.

Closing the trading session today, June 1, FRT lost 2.38% against the final session last week to VND127,100, with 359,200 shares changing hands.

The benchmark VN-Index closed down 18.95 points, or 1.02%, at 1,844.54 points on Monday, with losers outnumbering gainers by 133 to 165 on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE).

Trading volume fell sharply from the previous session, with more than 506.9 million shares worth VND15.05 trillion changing hands, down 26% in volume and 23% in value. Block transactions accounted for 75.5 million shares worth a total of VND3.61 trillion.

Vingroup-related stocks remained the biggest drag on the market as they collectively shaved nearly 14 points off the benchmark index.

Shares of Vingroup’s retail property arm VRE fell more than 3% to VND31,200, while conglomerate VIC declined 3% to VND204,900. Residential developer VHM lost 2.6% to close at VND152,000.

Oil and gas stocks retreated after last week’s rally, with BSR falling 3.9% to VND28,600, GAS down 3.7% to VND84,200, and PLX losing 3.1% to VND39,750.

The HNX-Index rose 3.47% to 305.18 points, with 60 gainers and 75 losers on the Hanoi Stock Exchange. Around 53 million shares worth VND954.1 billion were transacted, with block deals adding 7.23 million shares.
