HCMC – FPT University, a member of FPT Corporation, has signed a cooperation agreement with FIRST® and announced the launch of the first-ever FIRST®Tech Challenge Vietnam (FTC Vietnam) for students across the country.

Under the partnership, FPT University has been granted the authority by FIRST® to oversee the organization of FTC in Vietnam, adhering to the standards of the U.S.-based non-profit organization. FTC Vietnam is scheduled to take place in Hanoi in February 2024.

The competition is for middle and high school students (grades 7 to 12) nationwide, in groups of 3-15 members with a professional advisor. Teams will use a set of fundamental equipment to develop robotic products that meet the specified objectives of the competition.

The FIRST® 2024, themed “Young generation creating the future,” entails the task of designing robots that possess the ability to collaborate with humans and engage in artistic activities.

FTC Vietnam aims to identify the most exceptional team that will be granted the opportunity to represent the nation in the worldwide FIRST® Tech Challenge. This international competition is scheduled to take place in the U.S. next April.

To support local students, FPT University has also organized the Vietnam Open Robotics Challenge (VORC) program on its five campuses in Hanoi, Danang, Quy Nhon, Can Tho, and HCMC.
