HCMC – The final section of the Dien Chau-Bai Vot Expressway, part of the Eastern North-South Expressway, will be opened to traffic tomorrow morning, June 30, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The completion of the last 19-kilometer stretch from National Highway 46B to the Bai Vot interchange will make the entire 49-kilometer Dien Chau-Bai Vot Expressway fully operational.

This will reduce travel time from Hanoi to Nghe An to around 3.5 hours, down from the previous five hours, and alleviate traffic congestion and accidents on National Highway 1A.

Vehicles including cars, passenger buses, and trucks under 10 tons will be allowed to travel at speeds ranging from a minimum of 60 kilometers per hour to a maximum of 90 kilometers per hour.

The Dien Chau-Bai Vot Expressway spans around 49 kilometers, with a 44-kilometer section in Nghe An Province and the remaining portion in Ha Tinh Province. It is funded through the public-private partnership (PPP) format, with total investment capital of nearly VND11.16 trillion.
