HCMC – Nguy Thi Khanh, director of the Green Innovation and Development Center (GreenID), has been arrested for tax evasion.
The Police Investigation Agency of Hanoi has launched legal proceedings against the 46-year-old woman for tax evasion in accordance with Article 200 of the Penal Code.
Khanh, who resides in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, is Vietnam’s first recipient of the Goldman Environmental Prize, the world’s largest award for grassroots environmental activists.
Founded in late 2011, GreenID is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable development in Vietnam and contributes to global sustainable development goals.
The center works to achieve fundamental change in the approach to sustainable development by promoting the transition to a sustainable energy system, good environmental governance and inclusive decision processes.
