HCMC – Work has begun on a four-lane underpass connecting Beltway No. 2.5 and Giai Phong Street, at an estimated cost of nearly VND780 billion, funded by the government of Hanoi City.
The underpass project will consist of a 140-meter-long tunnel and two access roads with a total length of 640 meters each.
The project will be executed by a consortium comprising Cienco4 Group Joint Stock Company and Project 3 Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company.
The project owner is the Hanoi Management Board for Transportation Works Construction and Investment Projects.
The underpass is one of the key infrastructure projects in the city in the 2021-2025 period to ease congestion on Beltway No. 2.5 and Giai Phong Road as well as ensure smooth traffic flow through the Giap Bat Station.
This is the fifth underpass to be developed in the city since 2009, after Kim Lien-Xa Dan, Trung Hoa, Thanh Xuan and Le Van Luong.
