HCMC – The government of HCMC has approved a plan to relocate residents from six apartment blocks at the Thanh Da residential complex, with Binh Quoi Ward authorities assigned to oversee the process.
According to the official portal of the HCMC People’s Committee, apartment blocks 1, 2, 8, 9, 10 and 11 at the Thanh Da residential area will be vacated under an approved compensation and resettlement plan.
Binh Quoi Ward will work with relevant agencies to relocate affected residents, including those living in state-owned units.
According to the Department of Construction, the six apartment blocks at the Thanh Da residential area were designated for demolition following safety inspections and already have approved compensation and resettlement plans in place.
A renovation project covering eight apartment blocks has been led by Thanh Da Housing Development JSC since 2017, but implementation has been delayed by legal hurdles.
Residents from blocks 4 and 6 were relocated earlier, while the remaining six blocks contain a total of 1,303 apartments, including both privately owned and state owned units.
