HCMC – The HCMC Department of Transport issued a notification on traffic rearrangement in District 1 from January 3 to 26, 2023, to organize book and flower streets for the Lunar New Year 2023.
Vehicles will be disallowed to enter Nguyen Hue Boulevard and some traffic lanes on Le Loi Boulevard from 4 p.m. on January 19 to 6 a.m. on January 26.
The city will also restrict vehicles from using the connecting routes from Dong Khoi Street to Nguyen Hue, Nguyen Thiep, Le Loi, Mac Thi Buoi and Ngo Duc Ke streets.
Regarding the routes from Ho Tung Mau and Pasteur to Nguyen Hue Street, some streets will have their mixed lanes closed during that time, including Hai Trieu, Ngo Duc Ke, Huynh Thuc Khang, Ton That Thiep and Le Loi streets.
Road users should use two alternative routes: Ton Duc Thang-Vo Van Kiet-Khanh Hoi Bridge Underpass-Me Linh Square-Ton Duc Thang-Hai Ba Trung-Le Thanh Ton; and Ton Duc Thang-Ham Nghi-Pasteur-Le Thanh Ton.
The transport department earlier banned all vehicles from using the Nguyen Hue Boulevard U-turn near Ton Duc Thang Street from 7 a.m. on January 3 to January 19.
The authority recommended passengers follow this alternative route: Nguyen Hue-Ton Duc Thang-Vo Van Kiet-Khanh Hoi Bridge Underpass-Ton Duc Thang-Me Linh Square-Ton Duc Thang-Nguyen Hue.
