HCMC – The HCMC Economic Forum 2022, themed “Digital economy: Driving force for growth of HCMC in future” will be held from April 14 to 16 in the city.

The event will offer a venue for experts, State management agencies and businesses to meet and discuss models, solutions, and resources to realize the city’s digital transformation plan effectively, said a city official at a press briefing held yesterday, March 28, to introduce the upcoming forum.

Addressing the press briefing, vice chairman of the municipal government Vo Van Hoan, who is head of the forum’s organizing committee, said the forum is an annual international event hosted by the city’s government to collect ideas from speakers and experts at home and abroad on the socioeconomic development fields of the city, especially its key projects and programs.

The forum also creates a chance for individuals and organizations to put forward their recommendations on policies to promote and manage the development of the digital economy.

According to Nguyen Phuoc Hung, vice president of the HCMC Business Association, the forum will focus on four main topics — an overall picture of digital transformation among businesses in HCMC, policy-making suitable for digital economic growth in the city, challenges and solutions in digital transformation to enhance businesses’ competitiveness and the experience and success lessons of local and international firms in digital transformation.

The forum is expected to attract over 900 participants comprising heads of government, ministries and representatives of foreign diplomatic agencies and local authorities, international organizations such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
