HCMC – The HCMC People’s Committee has requested the localities that Beltway No. 3 passes through to focus on clearing 80% of the area by June 30 this year.
Chairman of the city government Nguyen Van Mai made the above request at a conference on enhancing state management over compensation and support for resettlement held on April 28.
The localities affected by the project are requested to expedite clearance of farmland first so that 80% of the land can be cleared by June 30, cited the Vietnam News Agency.
This is a crucial task to ensure the execution of works on Beltway No. 3 in four localities, Thu Duc City, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts.
According to the chairman, a compensation policy must be well implemented to ensure the affected households and organizations benefit.
Beltway No. 3, with a total length of 76 kilometers running through HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, needs an investment of VND75,300 billion.
The 47.5-kilometer section of Beltway No. 3 passing through HCMC requires clearing 412 hectares of land and affects 1,671 households.
By June 15 this year, the city plans to disburse VND8,800 billion for compensation and VND2,000 billion for construction and installation.
