HCMC gives fresh boost to long-stalled projects

HCMC – Leaders of HCMC are directly in charge of overseeing and driving the resolution of long-stalled and unresolved projects, accelerating their implementation and completion to ensure they are put into use while preventing waste and losses.

Phan Van Mai, chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, issued Notification 502/TB-UBND on December 3, assigning the Standing Committee of the HCMC People’s Committee to monitor and direct the resolution of long-stalled projects.

He will oversee and direct the resolution of 10 major projects, including Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, the four roads in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, the VND10-trillion flood control project, the Phan Dinh Phung Sports Hall, the Observation Tower in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, the Saigon Safari – Cu Chi Park, the land lot at No. 1 Ly Thai To Street, the National History and Culture Park, and the Binh Quoi Thanh Da Urban Area project.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Duong Ngoc Hai is tasked with overseeing and directing the implementation of inspections, resolving legal cases and judgments, and focusing on executing the conclusions from Inspection Team 857, as well as addressing the land issues at 8-12 Le Duan Street, 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung Street, and the Sing-Viet project

The vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, Vo Van Hoan, is responsible for overseeing and directing industrial and agricultural development projects, including Pham Van Hai, Le Minh Xuan, and Lang Le-Bau Co industrial parks, the HCMC Fisheries Center project, and the high-tech agriculture park project for the seafood industry.

Another vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, Bui Xuan Cuong, is in charge of overseeing, monitoring, and urging the implementation of transportation, infrastructure, housing, and investment projects, including the project to construct the section connecting Pham Van Dong Street to the Go Dua interchange on National Highway 1, the Binh An Water Plant project, resettlement housing auction projects, and public investment projects within his area of responsibility.

Vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dung is responsible for overseeing and monitoring audits, as well as key real estate investment projects, such as the Norfolk Hotel project, the Caravelle Hotel expansion site, and suspended public investment projects.

He was asked to urgently review, evaluate, and propose solutions for vacant houses and land issues, including the possibility of auctioning or reclaiming them for effective use.

The vice chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, directly oversees and monitors the implementation of projects commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, accelerate the progress of ongoing public investment projects, and focus on investing in and upgrading 10 out of 12 theaters.
