HCMC proposes Govt provide 10 million test kits

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC government has proposed the Government direct the Ministry of Health to provide the city with 10 million rapid test kits and dispatch 1,000 people to support its mass testing drive.

In a document sent to the prime minister on September 20, the city also proposed the prime minister direct the Ministry of National Defense to mobilize 4,000 military officers to help the city with the testing drive until the end of September, news site VnExpress reported.

According to the HCMC government, after the prime minister and the Ministry of Health sought to enhance the mass testing drive in the city, the municipal government has worked with the relevant agencies to work out a testing plan until September 30.

The municipal anti-Covid steering committee has issued an urgent document on the testing work and several anti-pandemic measures. Specifically, residents in extremely-high-risk and high-risk areas will undergo quick tests three times a week, except for those infected with Covid-19 in the last 14 days and Covid-19 cases discharged from hospitals.

In low-risk and coronavirus-free areas, the city will conduct quick tests for representatives of households, prioritizing those who have yet to get vaccinated, are not recovering from Covid-19, and are in contact with many people.

Medical workers or volunteers will bring the test kits to them, instruct them to take the samples and record the testing results, and help those who cannot take their samples themselves.

As of September 17, the city had mobilized more than 1,500 teams to collect residents’ samples for Covid-19 testing.
