HCMC remains on high alert for Covid-19

Must read

HCMC – The government of HCMC has raised the Covid-19 risk to the highest level, with foreign experts who recently entered the city having to undergo Covid-19 re-testing as part of its stringent measures to fight the coronavirus.

The city’s health sector will be teaming up with the HCMC Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to carry out another coronavirus testing round for the foreign experts, said the city’s government, reported Tuoi Tre Online.

The city earlier detected an infection cluster at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport and put it under control. However, the risk of community transmission remains, especially when people return to the city, particularly from coronavirus hotspots, after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Accordingly, the city’s government asked the departments, agencies, Thu Duc City and district-level authorities to keep staying vigilant against the virus at all times, to view activities to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases as their core mission.

Also, anti-epidemic measures such as masking, hand washing and social distancing must be adopted in all of the production, business, and education activities.

If anyone returns to the city from virus-hit regions, they will have to make health declarations and notify local authorities and medical centers to receive guidelines on Covid-19 screening and testing.

Industrial parks and businesses must have proper anti-epidemic plans when they are operational.

Local authorities across the city must direct activities to inspect and encourage those returning to the city from other provinces and cities over the last 14 days to declare their health status, and contact local health centers for receiving Covid-19 safety measures.
