HCMC – The HCMC administration plans to work with South Korean partners over wastewater treatment, waste management, air pollution and climate change mitigation.

The city wants to gain experience from South Korea in green economy and sustainable development, said Phan Van Mai, chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, during a meeting with South Korean Deputy Minister of Environment Kum Hang-seung on March 28.

Mai praised the growing strategic comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and South Korea, particularly in trade and investment. South Korea’s rapid development is an instructive model for other Asian countries, added Mai.

Kum Hang-seung said the South Korean government would prioritize green technology growth in 2023 and pledge to support other nations through international cooperation.

South Korea is willing to welcome HCMC’s working groups to the country to strengthen collaboration and the exchange of experiences.

He said that South Korean firms interested in HCMC’s business opportunities are seeking to get involved in many environmental conservation projects in the city.
