HCMC – The HCMC Party Committee has approved a plan of sending a working team to central localities hard hit by Storm No.6 and offer donation of VND1.3 billion to them, said an official of the city.

Specifically, the working team, including representatives of the municipal Commission of Mass Mobilization and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC, will visit and provide support to Quang Binh, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai provinces, said Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, head of the municipal Party Committee’s Board for Propaganda and Education, at a press briefing on October 15.

Quang Binh and Quang Nam will receive VND500 million each, and the remaining VND300 million will go to Quang Ngai. The donation is extracted from the city’s rescue funding source.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC also called on support of residents in the city and those living abroad, State officials and employees, armed forces, religious organizations, and socio-economic units to join hands to help flood-hit residents.

The support of the city dwellers is expected to encourage residents in the disaster-hit central provinces to overcome this hard time and soon return to normal life.
