HCMC – HCMC’s budget revenue amounted to over VND88 trillion between January and February, meeting 22.8% of the full-year target and rising by nearly 15% year-on-year.

Of the total, budget revenue from domestic production and business activities reached over VND66.3 trillion, according to the HCMC Statistics Office.

Imports and exports brought revenue of VND18.5 trillion, while budget revenue from crude oil was over VND3.2 trillion, the local media reported.

The spike in the city’s budget revenue mainly resulted from property-related activities and the hike in crude oil prices, said the municipal Statistics Office.

In January, the city’s budget collection amounted to over VND47.8 trillion, up 19.5% year-on-year.

On the other hand, the city’s budget spending totaled an estimated VND5.78 trillion in the first two months of the year, dipping by 39.6% year-on-year.

The Government has set a budget revenue target in 2022 at nearly VND386.6 trillion for HCMC, accounting for 24.8% of the country’s budget revenue.
