HCMC – HCMC should expect rainfalls between 20 and 40 mm, with some districts seeing over 50 mm, leaving the city at risk of flooding, said the Southern Region Hydro-Meteorological Center.
Strong winds and even hail may accompany rain, the hydro-meteorological center said, adding that it may rain for a few days.
From 1 p.m. yesterday to 1 p.m. today, the city recorded rainfall of 33.6 mm in Binh Chanh District, 20.4 mm in Cu Chi District, 16.6 mm in Thu Duc City and 15.6 mm in Hoc Mon District.
Water levels in the downstream area of the Saigon-Dong Nai river system remain high and are predicted to rise gradually until September 28.
According to the hydro-meteorological center, the city may face flooding today or tomorrow, September 28.
