As a manufacturer of motorcycles and automobiles, Honda Vietnam’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities place strong emphasis on supporting traffic safety to benefit the community. In addition, the company has been involved in assisting communities affected by storms, as well as planting trees to protect the environment.
Supporting students in improving traffic safety knowledge
On May 26, aiming to raise awareness and skills for safe traffic participation among the younger generation, Honda Vietnam, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department (the Ministry of Public Security), the National Traffic Safety Committee, and the Ministry of Education and Training, launched a program to enhance legal knowledge and safe motorbike riding skills for high school students and vocational education institutions in Hanoi. The launch took place at Dong Anh High School with the participation of nearly 600 11th-grade students.
This event marked the beginning of a series of 35 programs to be implemented nationwide in 2025. Through these activities, Honda Vietnam hopes not only to equip students with essential knowledge and skills, but also to gradually instill safe traffic habits in the younger generation.
This is one of the company’s practical efforts, demonstrating its commitment to building a safe, civilized, and sustainable society.
As part of Honda’s global network, Honda Vietnam is committed to contributing to Honda’s global goal of “zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles” by 2050, while also working with the Government to achieve “zero road traffic accident fatalities” by 2045.
To achieve these goals, Honda Vietnam works closely with relevant authorities such as the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Traffic Police Department, and the Ministry of Education and Training to implement various traffic safety programs. Notably, from 2020 to 2025, the company has been conducting traffic safety awareness and training activities for more than 27 million people annually, including students of all ages.
In response to the growing issue and accident risks of students operating motorcycles, the Government issued Decree 151/2024/ND-CP, which specifies measures for implementing the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. This includes guiding safe motorbike riding skills for students beginning high school or vocational training.
On February 14, 2025, in line with the decree, Honda Vietnam and the Traffic Police Department signed an agreement outlining traffic safety cooperation for the 2025–2027 period. Supported by the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealers (HEADs), the two sides launched a series of “Programs to Enhance Legal Knowledge and Safe Motorbike Riding Skills for Students.”
These sessions are not merely theory-based, but are designed to be engaging, visual, and interactive, making them easier for students to understand and remember. Students also get hands-on practice with electric motorbikes to hone their real-life traffic handling skills.
After each session, students take both theoretical and practical tests to ensure they are competent in riding safely in traffic.
Beyond this initiative, in September 2024, Honda Vietnam partnered with the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training to launch the 2024–2025 nationwide helmet donation program for first graders. Building on the success of previous years, Honda Vietnam committed to donating over 1.7 million quality helmets—worth tens of billions of Vietnam dong—along with traffic safety training for parents.
The program reflects the company’s recognition of the importance of wearing quality helmets to protect road users. For first graders, an important stage for shaping awareness, developing the habit of always wearing a standard helmet when riding on a motorbike is essential.
This initiative aims to form a helmet-wearing habit among Vietnamese motorbike users, raise the national helmet-wearing compliance rate to 100% according to technical standards, and enhance traffic safety awareness among students and parents through training and communication activities.
This is a continuation of the “Helmet Donation for First Graders” program launched in 2018 by Honda Vietnam in partnership with the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training. With the 2024–2025 donations, the total number of helmets given nationwide has reached nearly 10.3 million.
Supporting storm-affected communities
Beyond traffic safety education for students, Honda Vietnam has also supported communities impacted by natural disasters.
In September 2024, through the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, the company donated VND5 billion to help those affected by Typhoon Yagi recover and stabilize their lives. Additionally, in cooperation with HEADs and authorized automobile distributors in affected provinces, the company provided free inspections and oil changes for vehicles damaged by flooding.

From September 11 to October 11, 2024, in 13 northern provinces, customers with Honda motorcycles or automobiles affected by Yagi-triggered floods received 100% free services, including oil changes, and body inspection and cleaning.
Honda Vietnam hopes these efforts will help ease the difficulties faced by customers and residents, enabling them to recover from disasters and return to normal life.
In addition, in line with Vietnam’s “Carbon Neutrality by 2050” target and the company’s own sustainability goals, Honda Vietnam continues to prioritize environmental protection, including tree planting under the “For a Green Vietnam” initiative.
For many years, the company has planted tens of thousands of trees annually, contributing to the national goal of planting one billion trees across various localities nationwide.
