HCMC – The Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HoSE) has announced it will officially launch its new trading system KRX on May 5.
The announcement from HoSE was made following the approval of the Vietnam Stock Exchange and the State Securities Commission.
In mid-March, HoSE also announced changes to trading regulations that will take effect with the implementation of the KRX system developed by Korea Exchange.
According to analysts, the launch of the KRX system will create new opportunities for investors. With the new technology platform, market regulators and operators can introduce advanced trading solutions such as T+0 settlement, same-day selling of pending securities, short selling, and options contracts.
In related news, the strong rally of Vingroup stocks, especially VIC hitting its ceiling price, was the main driver behind another positive rebound for the VN-Index.
With 289 gainers and 207 decliners, the VN-Index today rose by 12.35 points, or 1.02%, against the day earlier to 1,223.35 points.
Total trading volume exceeded 798.6 million shares worth VND17.66 trillion, down 7% in both volume and value compared to the previous session. Block deals accounted for over 54.6 million shares worth a total of VND1.31 trillion.
VIC surged to its ceiling price, up 7% to VND62,700, with 8.73 million shares traded. The stock was still over-subscribed by over 1.18 million shares at the ceiling price.
VHM advanced 4.62% to VND61,200 on a volume of more than 12.6 million shares, while VRE rose nearly 4% to VND22,800 with 16.5 million shares changing hands.
Aside from the Vingroup stocks, several other bluechips also performed well during the session. BVH gained 5.6% to VND46,450, while HDB rose 4.4% to VND21,250.
SHB remained the most actively traded stock, leading the market with over 87.2 million shares transacted, far surpassing other stocks in terms of liquidity.
At the close, the HNX recorded 84 gainers and 64 decliners. The HNX-Index fell by 0.38 point, or 0.18%, against the previous session to 211.07 points. Around 60.3 million shares were traded, with a total value of nearly VND990.9 billion.
