HCMC – Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric cars, assembled by Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Auto Joint Venture JSC (HTV) in Ninh Binh Province, are now available at showrooms in Vietnam with a starting price of VND1.3 billion per unit.

HTV announced yesterday, July 31, that the joint venture officially rolled out the first batch of Hyundai IONIQ 5 vehicles for distribution in Vietnam.

This is the first time that a high-tech electric vehicle model from Hyundai Motor has been assembled in Vietnam.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 vehicles are assembled at Hyundai Thanh Cong 2 plant (HTMV2) in the northern province of Ninh Binh. This modern facility has been in operation since the end of 2022.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 has two trim levels: IONIQ 5 Exclusive and IONIQ 5 Prestige, which are priced at VND1.3 billion and VND1.45 billion, respectively. Both of them come with a warranty of either five years or 100,000 kilometers.

The IONIQ 5 Exclusive is equipped with a 58 kWh battery, providing power output of 170 horsepower and an average distance of 384 kilometers on a single charge. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 5 Prestige uses a 72.6 kWh battery, and has power output of 217 horsepower and an average distance of 451 kilometers on a single charge.

HTV has been working with its partners to develop a network of charging stations for electric vehicles across Vietnam, aiming to cover 80% of provinces and cities in Vietnam by 2024.
