HCMC – KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG), a technology subsidiary of KBank in Thailand, has established KBTG Vietnam as its third base in the Asian region.
The move aims to attract IT talents and expand its market reach in Vietnam and other countries.
Over the next three years, the company plans to recruit more than 500 professionals to drive KBTG’s leadership in the regional tech industry and support KBank’s objective of becoming one of the top 20 banks in Vietnam by 2027.
KBTG Vietnam becomes the second branch of KBTG in ASEAN and the third branch in Asia, following KBTG in Thailand and K-Tech in Shenzhen, China.
Thanussak Thanyasiri, managing director of KBTG Vietnam, highlighted the goal of developing software and creating financial innovations and technologies to enhance KBank’s operations in Thailand, Vietnam, and other ASEAN countries.
In 2023, KBTG Vietnam looks to recruit its first batch of 200 IT professionals to focus on software development for KBank and enhance the K PLUS Vietnam application, which already boasts over 600,000 users.
KBTG Vietnam obtained its business license on June 28, 2022, and has recently opened a second office in Hanoi to tap into the local pool of tech talents, in addition to its first office at the Friendship Tower in HCMC.
