Largest-ever audit on use of resources for anti-Covid fight launched

HCMC – The State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) has launched an audit on the mobilization, management and use of resources in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and support policies at nine ministries and agencies and in 32 provinces.

In addition, the audit will focus on the proposal and issuance of policies relating to the fight against the pandemic; the direction, cooperation, instruction, inspection, supervision and assessment of the deployment of directives and resolutions of the National Assembly, the Government and the national anti-Covid steering committee in 2020, 2021 and other related periods.

The audit will last from February 16 to March 31, the local media reported.

The audit is aimed at assessing the feasibility and timeliness of the issuance and compliance with documents on the mobilization, management and use of resources for the anti-pandemic fight and policies of ministries, agencies and localities; as well as the effectiveness of policies for frontline forces, Covid-19 patients, laborers and social welfare policies.

Through the audit, shortcomings and limitations on the employment of policies may be found and solutions will be worked out.

SAV will audit the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Finance, Health and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Central Committee the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Vietnam Social Security and 32 localities.

State Auditor General Tran Sy Thanh said this was the largest ever audit, so SAV had mobilized a large number of auditors.

SAV will strive to conduct the audit and report the results to the National Assembly, the Government, the People’s Councils of localities and other competent agencies at the National Assembly’s sitting in May, Thanh added.
