HCMC – The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has announced that a consortium of six local companies won the bid for construction and installation of passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The contract is expected to be signed within this month.
The VND9,000-billion package will be undertaken by the consortium which comprises Hanoi Construction Corporation, Construction Corporation No.1, Corporation 319 (Ministry of Defense), Truong Son Construction, Ricons Construction Investment, and Luu Nguyen Construction.
The contract will have to be executed in 600 days starting from the date ACV begins construction and hands over the cleared site to the consortium. That means the T3 terminal is slated for completion by 2025.
The Tan Son Nhat International Airport Terminal T3 project comes with three main components, including the passenger terminal, the multi-story parking facility with non-aviation services, and the apron system in front of the terminal.
The total investment for this project is VND10,990 billion, with 70% of the capital invested by ACV and the rest from commercial loans.
The passenger terminal section comprises a basement level and four above-ground levels, with a total floor area of 112,500 square meters. It would be able to handle 20 million passengers a year.
According to ACV representatives, the Terminal T3 construction project was initiated in December 2022. The contractors have since worked on the foundation and ground of the terminal.
Until now, the bidding process for the main terminal structure has been completed, and preparations for the implementation phase are in progress.
