Local fuel prices surge

HCMC – Domestic fuel prices were revised up by over VND1,100 per liter today, August 1, according to an announcement jointly released by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.

RON 95-III gasoline, the premium fuel in Vietnam, is priced at VND23,960  per liter, an increase of VND1,170, while E5 RON 92 bio-gasoline costs VND22,790 per liter, up by VND1,160.

Other fuels also rose. Diesel oil now costs VND20,610 per liter, increasing by VND1,110, and kerosene now sells for VND20,270 per liter, surging by VND1,090.

Heavy fuel oil is now priced at VND16,530 per kilogram, up VND810.

During this fuel price adjustment, the two ministries decided to impose no surcharge on all types of fuel.

Local fuel traders can tap the fund at VND400 for each liter of diesel oil 0.05S sold and VND300 for each liter of RON 95-III kerosene sold.

In the year to date, fuel prices have been revised for 21 times, with 12 hikes and six cuts.
