HCMC – Domestic gold prices topped VND60.8 million per tael for the first time ever this morning, August 6, up some VND2 million per tael from the previous day.
The Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted its gold price at VND60.8 million per tael for selling at 11.20 a.m, up VND1.8 million against the earlier session, the local media reported.
The prices of Phu Quy gold quoted by the Phu Quy Group were VND59.5 million per tael for buying and VND60.5 million for selling.
Meanwhile, in the Hanoi market, Doji Group’s SJC-branded gold selling price soared to VND60.3 million per tael, while the group was buying a tael at VND59.3 million.
The selling price of Rong Thang Long gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau Jewelry stood at VND56.6 million per tael, up VND1 million from the earlier session. They were bought at VND55.5 million per tael.
The strong fluctuation in the domestic gold price resulted from the world’s gold price movements. The price of the yellow metal in the global market continued its upward spiral, standing at US$2,042 per ounce this morning.
