HCMC – The Ministry of Health has urged local health authorities to come up with plans to administer the third and fourth Covid-19 vaccine shots to fully vaccinated people, especially those in the front lines.

Cities and provinces must review the demand for Covid-19 vaccinations so that the ministry can allocate more doses this month and next. They should also come up with vaccination plans for next year, make a list of children aged between three and 11, 12 and 15, and 16 and 17 and propose the needed vaccine volume for these age groups.

The Ministry of Health also urged cities and provinces to accelerate the administering of the first doses and complete the vaccination of residents 50 and older, the local media reported.

In the rest of the year, large Covid-19 vaccine shipments will arrive in the country, so cities and provinces should prepare human resources and facilities to speed up the vaccination process and bring the pandemic under control soon.

Vaccination teams must use the electronic health book (So suc khoe dien tu) app to manage and monitor the vaccination progress, improve the PC-Covid app and ensure data security for residents.

As of November 1, Vietnam had administered more than 82 million Covid-19 vaccine doses to residents, with some 24.5 million people having received two doses, or 78.5% and 33.1% of the population, respectively.
