HCMC – Singapore-based real estate company Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd has announced a donation of S$1 million, or around US$750,000, to Vietnam’s Covid-19 vaccine fund to help the nation achieve herd immunity by early 2022.
Amy Ng Lee Hoon, regional chief executive officer of South East Asia & Group Retail, Mapletree, said, “Mapletree believes in giving back to the communities in the markets which we operate. With over 15 years in Vietnam, we have consistently supported the community through donations for local causes, as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities initiated by our staff.”
Aligned to the CSR pillar of healthcare, the company hoped that the donation would play a role in protecting the health of frontliners and the community in Vietnam.
Mapletree has supported Vietnam’s community since 2011 by providing health cards for the less fortunate in HCMC. In 2017, the firm donated 20 wheelchairs to the Thuy An Center for Nurturing Old People and Disabled Children.
The Mapletree Vietnam team has also been active and regular participants in the company’s annual Staff CSR program since 2018. As part of the international business community in Vietnam, Mapletree will remain a strong supporter of public health programs in Vietnam’s efforts against Covid-19.
