HCMC – Nguyen Yen Linh, daughter of Masan Group Corporation Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang, has acquired nearly 8.5 million shares of the company, raising her stake to 0.59%.

The share purchases were conducted from October 29 to November 18 through order-matching and block deals, according to the State Securities Commission.

Linh initially registered to purchase 10 million MSN shares but only completed 85% of the target, citing unsuccessful negotiations for the remaining shares.

Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang barely owns any MSN shares directly, but his wife, Nguyen Hoang Yen, holds nearly 50.9 million MSN shares, or 3.54% of the company. However, Quang indirectly holds a 31.19% stake in the company through Masan JSC, the largest shareholder of Masan Group Corporation.

Masan JSC owns nearly 446.3 million MSN shares, according to a July 2024 corporate governance report.

The purchases coincided with SK Group’s divestment of 76 million MSN shares. The South Korean conglomerate is no longer a major shareholder of the company. The buyer of these shares has not been disclosed.
