Methane explosion leaves four miners dead

HCMC – A methane explosion at an underground mining workshop in the northern province of Quang Ninh has left four miners dead and seven others injured, according to local media reports.

The incident took place at 12:20 a.m. on April 3 at a mining workshop operated by the Thong Nhat Coal Company – TKV in Quang Ninh.

The victims, aged between 33 and 37, succumbed to the explosion, while seven other workers sustained minor injuries and were promptly transported to Quang Ninh General Hospital for medical treatment.

Local authorities have attributed the explosion to methane gas generated within the coal seams.
