HCMC – The Ministry of Transport expects to disburse some VND27,027 billion before the end of September, reaching 53.7% of the approved plan this year.

The disbursement will consist of VND2,933 billion in foreign capital and VND24,094 billion in national capital.

As a result, the ministry’s disbursement rate by the end of September will likely exceed the national average of 47% but still fall VND670 billion short of the set target.

The public investment objective for 2022 was VND50,327 billion, the highest ever, according to the ministry.

Roughly VND23,301 billion, or 46.3% of the overall budget, will be disbursed during the following four months, including VND21,000 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022 and VND2,300 billion in January 2023.

In particular, some VND5,106 billion will need to be allocated for the first phase’s 11 North-South Expressway component projects, while VND8,335 billion will be required for phase two’s 12 North-South Expressway section components.

The building of the My Thuan-Can Tho Expressway is one of the key infrastructure projects. Others include runway upgrades at the HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport.

The remaining ODA projects need to disburse some VND2,780 billion.
