HCMC – The National Assembly (NA) this morning, June 16, adopted a resolution approving the Beltway No. 3 project in southern Vietnam, with 475 of 478 NA deputies voting in favor.

The 76.3-kilometer beltway, which will link HCMC, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An, will be funded by the State budget and divided into eight components, with each city/province responsible for two.

The project will need some 643 hectares of land and require over VND75.3 trillion in investment, the local media reported.

The beltway is set to be completed in 2025 and be put into service in 2026.

The Government tasked the Ministry of Transport with collaborating with the Ministry of Finance and other relevant ministries and central agencies to map out a plan for capital recovery.

The HCMC government is in charge of the whole beltway project in a synchronous manner.

Today, 95.18% of NA delegates also voted in favor of the Beltway No. 4 project in the Hanoi City region. The 113-kilometer-long road, which will connect Hanoi City and Hung Yen and Bac Ninh provinces, will be executed in seven components, with a total cost of some VND86 trillion.

The project, which will need over 1.300 hectares of land, will be completed in 2026 and be opened to traffic in 2027.
