HCMC – The Ministry of Health this evening, May 29, confirmed 890 fresh Covid cases, falling by 224 against the day earlier.
Hanoi City took the lead by case count with 282, followed by Yen Bai with 67 and Nghe An with 60. The rest were detected in 36 other cities and provinces.
Over 10.7 million Covid cases have been recorded in Vietnam so far.
Nearly 8,500 Covid patients were declared free of the disease today, taking the total number of recoveries to 9.4 million, while no Covid fatalities were reported.
The ministry has repeatedly urged all cities and provinces to speed up Covid vaccinations to complete the administration of the third dose for adults in the second quarter of 2022, expedite the inoculation of children and start fourth-dose drives.
As of May 28, the country had administered over 220 million doses of Covid vaccines nationwide, according to the ministry.
