HCMC – International Transportation and Trading JSC has launched the Vietnam Smarthub Logistics (VSL) ecosystem at the SP-ITC International Container Terminal in Thu Duc City, HCMC, in cooperation with Smart Logistics Technology JSC to facilitate import-export procedures and reduce logistics fees for firms.

The VSL ecosystem helps promote connectivity between exporters, importers, seaports, shipping lines, banks, inland container depots, logistics service providers and transport firms, and handle services online.

When participating in the ecosystem, import-export firms will be allowed to conduct non-cash payments, stuff and strip goods at yards and extend storage and detention.

VSL will also allow importers and exporters to use several different services such as transportation through a ride-hailing app at a reasonable price and time, goods insurance and financial lending.

As for transport firms as participants in VSL, the ecosystem will help them enhance the efficiency and operation of vehicles.

Pham Thi Mai Anh, director of the digital banking service center at MB, said the launch of VSL at the SP-ITC International Container Terminal would bring about advantages and benefits for firms. The online services and payments from the ecosystem will help firms reduce logistics fees, save time and minimize the Covid infection risk as the pandemic is still spreading in HCMC.

SP-ITC, the first international private container terminal in HCMC, is located in the Dong Nai River and can accommodate vessels with up to 45,000 DWT. Put into operation in 2016, the terminal has played a key role in Vietnam’s seaport system.
