New NA vice chairwoman, deputy PM named

HCMC – The National Assembly (NA) has passed resolutions appointing Le Thanh Long as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term and electing Nguyen Thi Thanh as vice chairwoman of the 15th NA.

The legislature discussed personnel issues at a session today, June 6, as part of the ongoing seventh sitting of the NA.

With 468 out of 469 deputies present at the sitting voting in favor, the NA approved the Prime Minister’s proposal to appoint Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.

After this appointment, the Government has four deputy PMs, namely Le Minh Khai, Tran Hong Ha, Tran Luu Quang, and Le Thanh Long.

On the same day, Nguyen Thi Thanh, head of the NA Standing Committee’s Board for Deputies’ Affairs, was elected as vice chairwoman of the 15th NA in the 2021-2026 term.

The resolution on the election of the NA vice chairwoman was approved through an electronic vote. With 465 out of 467 deputies present at the sitting voting in favor, the NA passed the resolution on her election to the post of NA vice chairwoman.

After the election, the 15th NA has four vice chairpersons, namely Nguyen Duc Hai, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Tran Quang Phuong, and Nguyen Thi Thanh.
