HCMC – With lawmakers present voting unanimously in favor, the National Assembly (NA) passed a resolution electing Nguyen Huy Tien as prosecutor general of the Supreme People’s Procuracy for the 2021-2026 tenure.
At the NA’s eighth extraordinary session, August 26, the legislature conducted an electronic vote to elect the prosecutor general of the Supreme People’s Procuracy for the 2021-2026 tenure. All of the 439 NA deputies present voted for Tien.
Therefore, the legislative body approved the resolution to elect Tien as prosecutor general of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, replacing Le Minh Tri, who has been elected as chief justice of the Supreme People’s Court.
Immediately following the NA’s approval of the resolution, Nguyen Huy Tien took the oath of office.
Tien was born in 1968. Before the election, he served as standing deputy prosecutor general of the Supreme People’s Procuracy from 2018.
