Nguyen Van Nen appointed as secretary of new HCMC Party Committee

HCMC – Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Party secretary of Ho Chi Minh City, has been appointed as secretary of the Party Committee of the new Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

According to the Politburo’s decision, the new HCMC Party Committee consists of 107 members, including 36 from the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Party Committee, 32 from the Binh Duong Province Party Committee, and 39 from the HCMC Party Committee.

The Politburo has also appointed 27 members to the Standing Committee of the HCMC Party Committee for the 2020–2025 term. This includes 11 members from Ba Ria-Vung Tau, seven from Binh Duong, and nine from HCMC.

Nguyen Van Nen continues to serve as secretary of the Party Committee of the new HCMC for the 2020–2025 term. Five deputy secretaries were appointed for the HCMC Party Committee.

The five newly appointed deputy secretaries for the 2020–2025 term are:

Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Party Central Committee member and Standing Deputy Secretary of the former HCMC Party Committee, who retains his post as Standing Deputy Secretary.

Nguyen Van Duoc, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCMC, who was appointed as Deputy Secretary and designated as chairman of the People’s Committee of the new HCMC for the 2021–2026 term.

Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong Province Party Committee and chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee, who was appointed Deputy Secretary and designated as chairman of the People’s Council of the new HCMC for 2021–2026.

Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC.

Dang Minh Thong, former Standing Vice Chairman of the Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province People’s Committee, who was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the new HCMC for the 2020–2025 term.

New leadership of the People’s Council of the new HCMC

Vo Van Minh was appointed Chairman of the HCMC People’s Council for the 2021–2026 term. His four vice chairpersons are:

Pham Thanh Kien, Standing Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Council

Tran Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ba Ria–Vung Tau People’s Council

Huynh Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Council

Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Council

New leadership of the People’s Committee of the new HCMC

Nguyen Van Duoc serves as Chairman of the People’s Committee of the new HCMC for the 2021–2026 term. The newly appointed vice chairpersons are:

Nguyen Loc Ha, member of the Standing Committee of the new HCMC Party Committee

Nguyen Van Tho, member of the Standing Committee of the new HCMC Party Committee

Nguyen Van Dung, Party Committee member and current Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee

Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Party Committee member and current Vice Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee

Bui Xuan Cuong, Party Committee member and current Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee

Bui Minh Thanh, Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee

New leadership of the Fatherland Front Committee of the new HCMC

Nguyen Phuoc Loc was named as Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the new HCMC for the 2024–2029 term. The eight newly appointed vice chairpersons are:

Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc, Chairman of the Ba Ria–Vung Tau Fatherland Front Committee

Bui Thanh Nhan, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee

Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Party Secretary of Di An City, Binh Duong

Nguyen Thanh Trung, Standing Vice Chairman of the HCMC Fatherland Front Committee

Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the HCMC Youth Union

Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the HCMC Veterans Association

Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the HCMC Fatherland Front Committee

Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Fatherland Front Committee
