No new Covid-19 cases reported this morning

HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally remained unchanged at 989 this morning, August 19 as the Ministry of Health reported no fresh Covid-19 cases.

Among the 989 cases, 525 patients have made a full recovery while 26 others have died. As many as 100 active Covid-19 cases have tested negative for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, one or three times.

Since July 25, Vietnam has reported 649 locally-transmitted cases, including 509 in the Danang coronavirus hotspot.

Over 81,580 people are under quarantine, with 3,350 of them being in isolation at hospital.

Pubs, bars and cafe shops in Hanoi City will start to practice social distancing from today, checking visitors’ body temperature and maintaining a safe physical distance of at least one meter between customers. The move is part of the city’s efforts in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
