HCMC – A truck collided with a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction on the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway this morning, leaving a driver dead in the cabin, the local media reported.

The fatal incident occurred at around 3 a.m., when a truck with license plate 50H 184.21 was traveling northbound on the expressway.

Upon reaching Phu Lac Commune, Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province, the truck crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer bearing license plate 29R 022.70, which was also traveling in the same direction.

The impact of the collision caused severe damage to the front of the truck, resulting in the death of the driver who was trapped in the cabin.

Authorities from the local police department swiftly arrived at the scene to manage traffic and issue a necessary warning to motorists.

This incident adds to a series of recent road accidents on the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway, highlighting concerns about safety on the highway. Despite being designed for speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour, the expressway’s limited infrastructure, including just two lanes without an emergency stopping lane, poses significant risks for motorists.
