HCMC – More than 50 people were evacuated from a gym fire in Hanoi last night, May 17, police said.
The fire broke out on the second floor of a building on Lang Street in Dong Da District around 10:15 p.m., according to the Hanoi Police Department.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control. They used equipment to break through a roller shutter door and ventilate the area.
Simultaneously, rescuers reached the third and fourth floors, where people were trapped, and helped them evacuate to the roof and down the stairs.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was extinguished by 10:40 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
