HCMC – Over 80% of Covid-19 patients in Hanoi City have no or mild symptoms, according to recent statistics from the Medical Examination and Treatment Department under the Ministry of Health.
As of December 4, among over 4,650 Covid patients undergoing treatment at hospitals in Hanoi City, as many as 3,900, or 83.8%, developed no or mild symptoms, while 50 others were in critical condition.
No Covid patients are relying on a high flow nasal cannula or an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine, the local media reported.
The authorities of Hanoi City on December 2 said that the ratio of patients with severe illness at Covid treatment hospitals stood at less than 0.8%.
However, new daily Covid cases in the city have jumped recently. Since November 30, the city has reported over 400 daily cases. On December 4 alone, 629 Covid infections were confirmed in Hanoi City, the highest in the ongoing fourth wave of the coronavirus so far.
In the current fourth wave, which began in late April, the city’s Covid caseload, has reached over 13,170.
Over 94% of the city’s adult population has received at least one shot of Covid vaccine.
