HCMC – Party General Secretary To Lam and other senior leaders attended the opening session of the 18th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure today, October 16.
The event is taking place at the Vietnam National Convention Center in Hanoi City, with the participation of current and former leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly and Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Among the attendees were former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; State President Luong Cuong; former Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; and former National Assembly Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung. Leaders of ministries, central agencies, and Hanoi authorities were also present.
According to the agenda, the morning session reviewed the eligibility of delegates, heard the political report of the Hanoi Party Committee’s 17th Executive Committee, and discussed its performance during the 2020–2025 term.
In the afternoon, delegates were set to focus on personnel matters, including reviewing and voting on the personnel plan, discussing the standards and composition of the 18th Executive Committee, and carrying out the nomination and election process.
The congress will elect the new Executive Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term and announce the results later today.
