HCMC – Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) will replace all mineral gasoline with E10RON95 biofuel nationwide by next month, instead of June 2026 as earlier planned to cope with the increasing energy risk.
The shift to E10RON95 is expected to reduce mineral gasoline imports by around 10%, equivalent to 35,000–40,000 cubic meters per month. To ensure a steady supply of ethanol, the key ingredient for E10 biofuel, Petrolimex has been proactively negotiating short and long-term contracts with partners from the U.S., South Korea, and Singapore, as domestic production currently only meets a fraction of the total demand.
To support this nationwide transition, Petrolimex has established rigorous quality control protocols to build consumer confidence in this low-emission product.
