HCMC – As site clearance work on the 99-kilometer-long Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway achieves completion, work on the project is scheduled to begin in September this year.

The provincial government of Dong Nai and the Transport Ministry’s Thang Long project management board, the project developer, examined the site clearance work on August 21.

According to the provincial government, the site clearance work conducted at Long Khanh City and the districts of Thong Nhat and Cam My has reached completion, with infrastructure facilities there being relocated to hand over the cleared site to the investor.

The People’s Committee of Xuan Loc District has compensated 531 out of the 723 affected cases and is working on paying the rest.

As for the 114 cases that had yet to be approved to receive compensation in the second phase, Xuan Loc District was told to work out compensation plans and submit them to the higher-level authorities for appraisal and approval.

To date, the investor has transferred VND60 billion to Xuan Loc District toward compensation for the affected cases in the second phase and is set to contribute the remaining amount of some VND290 billion to the district this month.

Of the 99-kilometer-long expressway, a section measuring 51 kilometers in length will pass through the southern province of Dong Nai. To assist with the execution of the project, the province withdrew some 412 hectares of land in Xuan Loc, Cam My and Thong Nhat districts as well as Long Khanh City.
