HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Government Decree No. 93 setting out a range of specific regulations for the transportation of air passengers and cargo.

According to the Vietnam News Agency, the regulation will take effect on December 22.

Passengers entering Vietnam are required to undergo the health, phytosanitary and veterinary, visa and customs procedures.

Before leaving the country, travelers have to go through the processes of check-in, visa, customs control and security screening.

The authorities will only demand health checks and a security screening for individuals transiting through Vietnam at an international border gate.

Aviation safety measures during a pandemic will be specifically issued by the Ministry of Health.

In terms of freight transportation, imported items and belongings delivered as checked baggage by passengers entering Vietnam will be subject to health, phytosanitary, veterinary and customs checks.

Conversely, health, phytosanitary and veterinary checks and a security screening will be carried out on commodities and baggage of travelers leaving the country.

In addition, the authorities seek to enhance aviation security and operations at border gates, as well as the efficacy of local airports nationwide.
