HCMC – In Ha Tinh Province, a pod of 19 dolphins found themselves ensnared in a fishing net. Upon receiving reports of the incident, local authorities swiftly mobilized fishermen to rescue and release the dolphins back into the sea.

The dolphins were discovered by fishermen in Cuong Gian Commune, Ha Tinh Province, around 7 a.m. The unexpected catch drew a crowd of onlookers as the fishermen brought the dolphins back to shore.

Upon inspection, it was found that 19 dolphins, each weighing between 40-50 kg, had become entangled in the net.

In response to the situation, local government provided financial assistance to purchase fuel for fishing vessels. This fuel was then used to aid in the safe release of the dolphins back into their natural habitat.

As of now, 16 of the dolphins have been successfully returned to the sea. Three dolphins succumbed to suffocation and could not be saved, as shared by the leader of the Cuong Gian Commune People’s Committee.
