HCMC – A project to expand the feeder and upgrade the 500kV Thanh My substation, which will facilitate the import of electricity from the Monsoon wind power plant in Laos, is expected to be completed in August this year.

This special energy project is being developed by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and managed by the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB).

Bui Quang Canh, director of Power Construction Company Limited No.4 (PCC4), reported that the project is 95% complete and is on track for energization by August.

During a recent site inspection, Bui Van Kien, deputy general director of EVNNPT, emphasized the project’s significance in reducing the load and enhancing the capacity of the North-South power transmission line. To ensure the project’s completion by August 30, contractors have been instructed to expedite progress and finalize all tasks by July 20.

Once completed, the project will connect 600MW of electricity from the Monsoon wind power plant in Laos to the national grid, significantly contributing to power security.
