HCMC – PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans), whose PVT shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE), plans to issue nearly 47 million shares as a stock dividend to raise its charter capital.
The company plans to issue shares to pay its 2025 dividend at a ratio of 10%, equivalent to nearly 46.99 million new shares. The issuance is expected to take place in 2026 pending approval from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.
If the issuance is successful, PVTrans’ charter capital would rise from nearly VND4.7 trillion to VND5.17 trillion.
Regarding business performance, PVTrans reported revenue of roughly VND4.2 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, up 49.7% from a year earlier, while its after-tax profit rose 39.9% year-on-year to VND387.44 billion.
In all of 2026, PVTrans targets VND16.5 trillion in revenue, VND1.5 trillion in pre-tax profit, and a planned dividend payment of 10%.
With its pre-tax profit reaching VND499.98 billion in the first quarter, the company has completed 33.3% of its full-year profit target.
Closing the trading session today, May 12, PVT lost 0.44% day-on-day to VND22,600, with nearly 4.8 million shares changing hands.
The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange rose 5.6 points, or 0.3%, to 1,301.1 points, with 161 gainers and 137 decliners.
Total trading volume reached 733.3 million shares worth VND21.15 trillion, down 24% in volume and nearly 25% in value compared with the previous session. Block deals accounted for 88 million shares worth VND2.02 trillion.
Among banking stocks, STB posted the strongest gain, rising 6.37% to VND76,800, followed by LPB, which climbed 3.22% to VND54,500. HDB advanced 1.67% to VND27,350, while BID, TPB, VIB and VPB posted modest gains.
Oil and gas stocks also posted strong gains, with PGD rising 5.33% to VND23,700, BSR up 4.86% to VND29,100, GAS gaining 3.94% to VND76,500, PLX climbing 2.72% to VND37,800, and PVD advancing 1.6% to VND31,850.
In terms of liquidity, SHB and VIX led the market, with trading volumes reaching 45 million shares and 38 million shares, respectively.
On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index gained 5.22 points, or 2.10%, to 253.28 points, with 71 advancers and 75 decliners. Around 43.8 million shares worth VND795.7 billion were traded, down 34.8% in volume and 37.9% in value compared with the previous session.
